Portugal Beats Netherlands, 2-1 in Euro2012

Team Portugal knock down at the back before their captain Cristiano Ronaldo twisted the game on when they required him most to make safe place in quarter-finals and depart the Dutch with no point.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored 2 goals for Portugal as they beat team Netherlands 2-1 to secure subsequent place in Group B & a quarter-final match in opposition to Czech Republic in Euro 2012.

Team Portugal were possibly considered 3rd among in this Group B so-called ‘group of death’, but it was Team Netherlands who concluded at the bottom of the mound with not even a single point in the table. Duly dressed in black color, it was eventually a last time for Bert van Marwijk’s team, who had some expectations of an improbable revivification when Rafael van der Vaart scored a goal within 11 minutes of game play to put Netherlands ahead but Cristiano Ronaldo then came for the rescue, nevertheless scoring a goal in both half and with a regal performance.

On the other hand, Paulo Bento’s pre-match word of warning that “Team Dutch like to have the ball, to play & have power over the game” may perhaps have set his players for the some early actions. Van der Vaart, played an important role, but it was his impressive 11th-minute goal which was the most outstanding divergence from what had gone before.

Hélder Postiga may well have drawn Portugal level earlier when unintentionally put clean all the way through Gregory van der Wiel, but abruptly it seems unlikely to the issue. Bento‘s side were extensive, with Ronaldo & Nani both were attacking & going close to score another goal before half-time. Team Netherlands had their chances of their own by Ron Vlaar & Nigel de Jong almost immediately after the half time, but there was atmosphere of certainty about Portugal’s danger; Ronaldo was unstoppable as Twice he showed his class, serenity & alertness to pick out first Fábio Coentrão, & then Nani, but Stekelenburg was also brilliant.

Ronaldo, although he was brilliant & during 74 minutes of game play he himself took the initiative to go by his own with his exhilarating counterattacks, but this time capitulate control in his own half for the Netherlands penalty region. Within no time he had the control on ball again all due credit to to Nani‘s accurate pass & accordingly made no fault, with right foot kick sent the ball back in Dutch Goalpost.

Despite the fact that Van der Vaart strike Klaas-Jan Huntelaar & Robin van Persie both tried to pressurize the opponent but this was too late as the last nail had previously been decisively put in the Dutch coffin. Ronaldo attempted to add an additional goal by computing in the final minute of the game play but was deprived of by goal by framework of Stekelenburg‘s goal again.
